We are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Executive Director of Enrollment Management & Student Success to contribute to shaping the future of online learning at UM.

This is not your typical enrollment management role. We’re looking for a leader who can think outside the box, someone who sees challenges as opportunities, and who can inspire a team to achieve ambitious goals. You will be a key architect of our online enrollment strategy, collaborating with faculty, program directors, and university stakeholders to design and implement innovative approaches that drive sustainable growth.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                            

  • Strategic Vision & Leadership:
    • Develop comprehensive and dynamic strategies for enrollment management and student success areas that align with UOnline’s strategic goals and the University’s mission. This is not about maintaining the status quo; it’s about anticipating future trends and positioning UM as a leader in online education.
    • Dive deep into market research and enrollment data, identifying emerging opportunities and developing proactive strategies to address challenges. We need a leader who can anticipate market shifts and adapt quickly to the evolving landscape of online learning.
    • Identify strategies for student support and retention and work closely with the student support team to put these strategies into action.
    • Identify and implement appropriate student services for online graduate students.
    • Collaborate with program directors and faculty to develop program-specific enrollment strategies that highlight the unique value proposition of each offering. You will be a key partner in ensuring that our online programs are not only academically rigorous but also highly attractive to prospective students.
  • Team Empowerment & Mentorship:
    • Lead, inspire, and empower a high-performing team of enrollment and student support professionals. You will foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, where each team member feels valued and supported.
    • Cultivate a team environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and a data-driven approach to enrollment management. You will be a mentor and coach, guiding your team to achieve their full potential and contribute to the division’s success.
    • Determine advisor: student and success advocate: student ratios and monitor for prime effectiveness.
  • Collaborative Partnerships & Engagement:
    • Build strong and collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including program directors, faculty, academic deans, and the central admissions office. You will be a master communicator and relationship builder, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective communication across departments.
    • Actively participate in university-wide enrollment management initiatives, contributing your expertise and insights to shape the overall enrollment strategy of the University. You will be a thought leader and advocate for online learning, promoting its value and impact within the broader university community.
  • Process Optimization & Innovation:
    • Collaborate with the University’s central admissions office to streamline and optimize admissions workflows for online programs. You will identify opportunities to improve efficiency, enhance the applicant experience, and ensure seamless transitions for students throughout the enrollment funnel.
    • Champion the use of technology to enhance enrollment processes and improve communication with prospective students. You will leverage Salesforce and Slate CRM systems to manage student data, track progress, and personalize interactions.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making and Technology Integration:
    • Embrace a data-driven approach to enrollment management, utilizing analytics tools to track key metrics, analyze trends, and generate actionable insights. You will be comfortable interpreting data, identifying patterns, and using data to inform strategic decisions and optimize enrollment strategies.
    • Develop and maintain a robust reporting system to monitor enrollment performance, identify areas for improvement, and demonstrate the effectiveness of enrollment initiatives. You will communicate key findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, using data to tell a compelling story.
    • Identify ways in which to utilize AI to increase efficiencies with both teams without decreasing the prospective and current student experience
    • Collaborate with University of Miami constituents to understand current usage of Live Chat Agents, conduct market research in this area, and suggest/present/implement/track Live Chat functionality.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                          

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Certification and Licensing:

Experience:

7+ years of progressive experience in enrollment management, with a demonstrable track record of success in recruiting students for online programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Leadership & Management: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and empower a high-performing team of enrollment professionals. Experience fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Strategic Thinking & Innovation: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic enrollment management plans. A creative and forward-thinking approach to problem-solving and a passion for exploring new ideas.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. Experience working effectively with faculty, administrators, and staff at all levels.
  • Technology & Data Analysis: Proficiency in Salesforce and Slate CRM systems. Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform strategic decisions and measure effectiveness.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Deep understanding of enrollment management principles, best practices, and trends in online education. Familiarity with online program development and curriculum design. Knowledge of financial aid processes and policies.
  • Professional Engagement: Active membership in one or more relevant professional organizations such as NACAC, NAGAP, AACRAO, UPCEA, or EDUCAUSE is highly desirable. We encourage continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in the field.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time, on-site position at the University of Miami’s beautiful Coral Gables campus. There is flexibility with the ability to work hybrid.
