Position Overview:

The Assistant Director of U.S. Admissions plays a critical role in driving undergraduate and graduate enrollment from the United States and Latin America to The American University of Rome (AUR). Based in the U.S., this position supports the university’s strategic enrollment goals by managing recruitment efforts, building relationships with key partners, and guiding prospective students through the admissions process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent AUR at college fairs, high school visits, and virtual events across assigned U.S. and LATAM territories.
  • Assist with Study Abroad initiatives (partner visits, webinars, etc.) when needed.
  • Develop and execute regional recruitment strategies to attract First-Year, Transfer, and Study Abroad students.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with high school counselors, college advisors, independent educational consultants, and institutional partners.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person information sessions, webinars, and yield events.
  • Manage applicant follow-up and communications from inquiry through deposit.
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to support territory-specific outreach.
  • Analyze territory data to track application, deposit, and yield trends; recommend strategy adjustments.
  • Support admitted student conversion through personalized follow-up and family engagement.
  • Assists with printing, inventory and mailing of AUR materials in North American and LATAM marketplace.
  • Participate in strategic planning discussions and contribute to the development of annual recruitment goals.
  • Travel to AUR annually, likely during orientation.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Enrollment Management and/or Senior Director of Enrollment and Study Abroad.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of admissions or recruitment experience, ideally with international or U.S. higher education institutions.
  • Knowledge of the U.S. education system and strong familiarity with international education is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Slate experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Spanish is highly desirable.

Additional Information:

  • This position is fully remote with flexible hours.
  • AUR is a tax-exempt entity and employment qualifies for the Federal Public Student Loan Forgiveness program.
  • Home office, set-up will be provided by AUR (laptop, printer, and office materials).
  • Salary range: $ 55– 70K. Employee benefits will be negotiated separately.
