Manages Tuck’s social media platforms and digital advertising, develops visual storytelling methods and creates digital content, and contributes to and supports public and media relations initiatives and activities.

Description

The Tuck School of Business seeks a social media-savvy communications manager to join its world-class team of marketing, public and media relations, and communications professionals. You will manage the school’s social media platforms and digital advertising, create original digital content that drives engagement, and contribute to and support media relations initiatives and activities. Bachelors plus 2-3 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications – Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

1. Experience and skill in creating effective social media content for businesses or nonprofit organizations, as well as internship or work experience in advertising, public relations, media relations, or journalism.

2. Knowledge of business communications and social media gained through a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, media relations, marketing, or a related field of study; or a combination of a liberal arts education and/or internship/work experience.

3. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design, digital analytics, photography, and videography preferred.

4. Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow professionals.

5. Able to anticipate, deliver on, and exceed the expectations of internal clients and colleagues.

6. Able to introduce and drive innovation in ways small and large.

7. Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues across Tuck and Dartmouth to achieve shared goals and objectives.

8. Able to proactively identify and pursue relevant learning and professional development opportunities and apply new knowledge, insights, and skills to enhance results.

Social Media Management (60%):

  • Envisions, develops, and implements social media plans to increase Tuck brand awareness and reach, drive targeted and organic traffic on the school’s current and emerging social media platforms, and build engagement with target audiences, including prospective and current students, alumni, the Dartmouth community, and the greater MBA community.
  • Engages with internal clients to capture, compose, edit, and share Tuck stories for social media platforms; develops and implements clients’ paid targeted social media advertising campaigns; monitors social media for business education trends; and tracks, analyzes, and reports on Tuck’s social media activities.

Digital Content (20%): Partners with the associate director of marketing and content to develop visual storytelling methods and create digital content that captures the Tuck experience and engages audiences across digital platforms, including video, graphics, photography, and blogs. Manages Tuck360 (Tuck’s official blog).

Media Relations (10%): Supports Tuck faculty in sharing research news and expert insights across social media platforms in new and innovative ways, uses social media to highlight Tuck though leadership aligned with the news of the day, identifies opportunities for in-cycle media pitching, and sources and cultivates influencer and media relationships.

Team Collaboration, Development, and Innovation (10%): Contributes ideas, input, and support to public and media relations initiatives, projects, and activities, particularly to promote newsworthy stories. Collaborates with and pitches-in to help fellow marketing and communications colleagues conceptualize, manage, and complete shared projects and assignments. Seeks out, applies, and shares knowledge of social media trends and innovations.
