The PantherDining Hall at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Marketing Specialist.

What Will You Do: The Marketing Specialist plays a unique and vital role in enhancing student engagement, promoting dining services, and supporting campus-wide events. Here’s a tailored version of their responsibilities:

Duties And Responsibilities Include:

  • Develops, coordinates, executes, monitors and implements all public relations and marketing materials for dining halls, retail units, concessions and catering within PantherDining, Parking and Transportation and Sustainability.
  • Prepares promotional brochures, newsletters and advertising for meal plans, menus, special events and other special projects.
  • Provides oversight of marketing projects, goals and objectives to Senior Director, PantherDining and Sustainability.
  • Maintains PantherDining, Parking and Transportation and Sustainability’s websites with frequent updates.
  • Ensures validity of published menus for dining.
  • Maintains all social media and interacts online with potential customers on a daily basis.
  • Coordinates and manages social media campaigns.
  • Ensure marketing materials are consistent and accurate.
  • Schedules and uploads digital signage.
  • Attends special events to capture photos.
  • Works closely with all management teams, to plan all aspects of events, ensuring cohesiveness, compliance with University policies and procedures, and schedule availability.
  • Serves as liaison between PantherDining, Sustainability and the news media.
  • Writes and edits stories for publication and coordinates with media sources to encourage publication of news.
  • Ensures PantherDining and Sustainability are up to date on all sustainability efforts and continues to market sustainability goals.
  • May supervise the work of student assistants and temporary staff as needed.
  • Contributes to the overall success of PantherDining and Parking and Transportation by performing all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, English, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing
  • Three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
  • Previous professional social media experience.
  • Previous higher education marketing experience.
  • Videography and photography experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle many assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to focus on priority projects and tasks.
  • Physical Requirements: Extended standing, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders.
  • Ability to work in all temperature conditions.
