Job Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director of External Engagement, the Marketing and Relationship Development Program Manager collaboratively manages activities related to the recruitment of external clients in a wide range of School of Information courses and programs. This includes the development, management, and execution of the client-based course recruitment plan, relationship development with clients, and other external engagement activities that ensure the success of student learning through client engagement. You will be part of a small, collaborative team and you will thrive independently building relationships internally and externally; all while contributing to a developing team in the novel field of engaged learning.

Responsibilities*

Client Recruitment For UMSI Courses and Programs

You will manage the marketing and recruitment plan for the 15-20 engaged learning courses and programs at the School of Information, with an emphasis on recruiting clients for client-based courses.

  • Manage annual client marketing and recruitment plan, ensuring that the plan is implemented strategically, communicated to partners, and is adjusted to meet the mission of the School and curricular goals for client-based courses and programs
  • Work with the team to maintain a database of contemporary contacts and organizations in Salesforce
  • Develop new and ensure the maintenance of client engagement resources including UMSI webpages, presentations for client partners, resources for faculty, students, and clients, and collaborative resource efforts between external engagement and ELO related to change management, teamwork, and program management

Lead Generation and Relationship Development

You will be responsible for understanding the content related to School of Information client-based courses and programs and translating that information to new types of potential clients to increase the visibility of engaged learning opportunities within UMSI and externally.

  • Lead, in collaboration with the Associate Director, long-term, strategic relationship development for external engagement, including tracking, developing, and updating relevant messaging
  • Develop and contribute to strategies for translating client-based course requirements to the public and develop an understanding of how industry and partner needs are aligned with client-based courses
  • Contribute efforts to the management of the UMSI Mentorship Program and serve as a liaison with other offices (Career Development Office and Development and Alumni Relations)

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience in a related field
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in or related to program management, project management, marketing, consulting, relationship management, or public service
  • Experience managing digital marketing campaigns and external communications, using tools like Marketing Cloud
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. to client sites for project development

Work Schedule

Punctual and regular attendance is required. May require regular regional travel and occasional domestic travel. Ability to work remotely two to three days per week. This role can be hybrid but does require on-site work due to the collaboration needed. Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change dependent on the needs of the school and university requirements.

You will be based in the UMSI Engagement Center, 777 N. University, Ann Arbor.
