Summary of Position

Keene State College invites applications for a Director of Strategic Communications and Community Relations.  The Director will raise visibility and brand affinity for the College and oversee all internal and external communications for the College, ensuring its message is strategic, consistent and engaging.  They will create, plan and oversee the process to seek out, generate, and disseminate to College audiences locally, regionally, and nationally, stories that reflect the Keene State College brand, the Liberal Arts experience, and the value and benefits of a college education.

Other minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or related field; five years of related experience in public relations; three years of supervisory experience; effective communication and interpersonal skills; computer skills especially those related to electronic and print media, including web design and maintenance.

Salary Information

Salary is commensurate with education and experience, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, retirement, tuition, and paid time off.

Primary point of contact for crisis communications to ensure appropriate College positioning and messaging.

Maintain community connections with the City of Keene and surrounding area to promote the College, advise of trends, developments, and prevailing opinion, and identify opportunities for deeper engagement with the community.
