Job Description:
The Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications, under direction of the Sr. Director of Alumni and Annual Giving Programming, will support the Alumni and Annual Giving Programming team by leading the marketing and communication efforts. This position has one direct report, a development associate to help ensure the cohesive creative marketing strategy across all channels. The ideal candidate for this job will be a skilled copywriter, with the ability to tell terrific stories with a vision and creativity. This person should be an accomplished writer, someone who can pivot when necessary and have the drive to work hard to move projects forward while striving to be an integral part of the team helping to meet ambitious goals.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field and three plus years relevant professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience managing marketing projects required. Candidate must have copy writing and editing experience. Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

Knowledge and experience with graphic design marketing communication and/or photography is preferred. Preference will be given to previous experience in annual giving or alumni relations. Experience with Raiser’s Edge and Blackbaud Net Community would be beneficial.
